One of the things I love about being a boudoir photographer is getting to show women a side of themselves that they don't usually see. We all know that how we see ourselves is totally different than how the rest of the world sees us. More often that not, we don't consider the mirror a friend. Luckily, my camera isn't a mirror and it shows only what I see :) I love showing a woman just how beautiful she really is and how she can sparkle in the right light! My favorite reaction is the "Oh! Is that me??" when I show someone a peek at the back of the camera :)
What's stopping you from booking your session? Is it nerves? I'd love to tell you that you're not going to be nervous for your session but I would totally be lying to you. Everyone is nervous. Even as a boudoir photographer, I still get nervous when I'm on the other side of the camera lol For most people, stripping down and stepping in front of a camera is an experience that is way outside of their comfort zone and goes far beyond simply taking their clothes off. Clothes act like a security blanket for a lot of people, myself included. Once those are gone there's nothing to hide behind. A good photographer will do everything possible to make you comfortable and feel at ease so you can forget that you're in a vulnerable place and just have fun!
Sheila was a little nervous when she came in to the studio too. She is one of the lovely ladies that booked herself a session in my recent Valentine's Day boudoir marathon! This was her first time having boudoir photos done and she totally rocked her session! She even brought some fantastic props to use for her session, which are totally an inside thing with herself & her husband :)
