Goodbye Errington Studio!

This fabulous family portrait session is the very last to be photographed in this studio! <3
It wasn’t always meant to be indoors though lol We were supposed to be shooting outside in the beautiful Vancouver Island forest but Mother Nature had other plans and unleashed a downpour. So. Indoors it was. We still managed to have fun and get some great family portraits!

So long Errington!
The next post will be coming to you from Edmonton! :)

Brandywine Falls Adventures

My adventures recently took me in a different direction on our way home from a trip to Edmonton. One of my favorite families asked if I would join them in Whistler for a fun afternoon with the kids. I haven’t been to Whistler in more years than I can remember so of course I said yes! :) We found an awesome spot at Brandywine Falls where the kids could run and play to their hearts content while I had the fun of capturing them scaling rocks and balancing on fallen logs. For the most part, the kids ignored me and my camera and enjoyed their play time but every so often I was able to get them to sit in one spot for a minute before they ran off again lol If you have high energy kids I highly recommend candid sessions like this rather than trying to get them to pose for the whole time, especially in the 2-4 age range. They’re much happier running around than being asked to sit on mom’s lap for a whole 3 minutes lol

MacIvor Family | Nanaimo Family Photography

I am SO behind on blogging all of your amazing sessions! I'm working hard today on getting a whole lot of writing done, starting with this awesome family here :)  You'll be seeing a lot of this gorgeous location in my blog posts (as if you haven't already! lol) simply because this is one of my favorite places in Nanaimo.  It's also the perfect place for family photography...lot of interested sights to keep the little ones engaged and so many hidden gems for places to take your photos. I have a few super secret spots up my sleeve that you more than likely won't see in anyone else's photos. This session happened on a lovely fall afternoon. The wind wasn't our friend that day though. It was pretty nippy and as such, the jackets stayed on. My poor hands were almost numb by the time we got back to the parking lot lol It all started out well but this little man was a bit of a sad panda and didn't want anything to do with having his picture taken this day. I blame the was cold enough to make anyone cranky so I definitely can't say I blame the munchkin at all lol There wasn't many smiles to be had but I think we still got a few cute photos and another story for the diner table when he's 16 :) This little guy happens to have the perfect eyes for a black & white portrait so I had to make sure I included some in this set :) When he did smile, it was so sweet! There's definitely a few cute shots in there that should totally be pulled out for his girlfriend when he's a teenager lol

Speak of sweet, isn't the little pooch adorable?? I have a thing for all animals, but dogs in particular and this little one almost got smuggled home in my coat lol
