MacIvor Family | Nanaimo Family Photography

I am SO behind on blogging all of your amazing sessions! I'm working hard today on getting a whole lot of writing done, starting with this awesome family here :)  You'll be seeing a lot of this gorgeous location in my blog posts (as if you haven't already! lol) simply because this is one of my favorite places in Nanaimo.  It's also the perfect place for family photography...lot of interested sights to keep the little ones engaged and so many hidden gems for places to take your photos. I have a few super secret spots up my sleeve that you more than likely won't see in anyone else's photos. This session happened on a lovely fall afternoon. The wind wasn't our friend that day though. It was pretty nippy and as such, the jackets stayed on. My poor hands were almost numb by the time we got back to the parking lot lol It all started out well but this little man was a bit of a sad panda and didn't want anything to do with having his picture taken this day. I blame the wind...it was cold enough to make anyone cranky so I definitely can't say I blame the munchkin at all lol There wasn't many smiles to be had but I think we still got a few cute photos and another story for the diner table when he's 16 :) This little guy happens to have the perfect eyes for a black & white portrait so I had to make sure I included some in this set :) When he did smile, it was so sweet! There's definitely a few cute shots in there that should totally be pulled out for his girlfriend when he's a teenager lol

Speak of sweet, isn't the little pooch adorable?? I have a thing for all animals, but dogs in particular and this little one almost got smuggled home in my coat lol

Ashley & Stephan | Nanaimo Wedding Photographer

Do you ever look at a couple and just know that they're meant for each other?  I knew that these two would be together forever the first time that I photographed them. The love that these two share is like something out of an epic romance novel. I saw it the first time I photographed them and I see it even more now. The way Stephan looks at Ashley is the way that every woman should be looked at by the man she loves. I was SO honored and thrilled when Stephan asked me to be there to capture the moment when he proposed to Ashley!

I haven't seen these two since I moved away from Edmonton so it was really easy to make Ashley suspect nothing lol We set up a photo shoot for Ashley & Stephan...nothing out of the ordinary :) The photo shoot took us around beautiful Neck Point in Nanaimo where the shoot ended at this adorable little picnic, carefully set up by Stephan's adorable mom Tina, and her equally awesome friends!

The look on Ashley's face was priceless as Stephan dropped to one knee and pulled out the ring. I'm not ashamed to admit that there were tears behind the camera lol

The verdict? She said yes!

I'll be a very happy wedding photographer when these two walk down the aisle!
